the unbearable lightness of being burgis

1.

Today was “trimming” day in pottery class and we weren’t allowed to throw fresh clay on the wheel. Next week is glaze day, which means all pots must be dry and bisqued and ready for glazing. Man, I am so bad at pottery. I can’t center properly so all my quote creations unquote are asymmetric and awkwardly sized. I doubt I can use any of my not-quite-mugs-not-quite-bowls for anything useful, but we’ll see. I’m still high-key excited to see how they all turn out huehuehue.

S asked me during pottery class what I did over the weekend. “Same-same,” I told her. “mostly bouldering.” S asked if I was getting better at it, and I said no. My bouldering buddy has progressed a lot quicker than I have, and they are now attempting intermediate grades while I can barely do anything past V0.

“Is it because they’re a lot less timid and more willing to throw their body around?” S asked.

“I think so. I get scared a lot.”

“Yea, that tracks.”

Hmm…

I cut my bangs shorter today. I know it’s no longer cool to have the sideswept bangs but I still have it. My hair naturally has a side part even as a kid, and I just like my face better with bangs. Whatever.

Yo, I also had botox shots on my chin today! It’s hella pricey and I’m not even sure if it makes a difference but, yea, I got botox. I asked the nurse if she would recommend me to get botox shots on my forehead and around the eyes, but she was like, nah, you’re still young. Mmkay.

I used to go on Vimeo just to watch the music video for NEWS’ Summertime. Nobody’s uploaded the official MV on YouTube yet. Sad-ish. Semi-sad. Sad adjacent.
