Yo, before you read on, could you do me a favor? Open Spotify, YouTube, or whatever music platform you use, and play “Do Wah Diddy Diddy” by Manfred Mann.
Ready?
Cool.
So, January flew by quickly. One day I was at the airport flying home from a quick trip to the US; the next day January was over. A whole-ass month had passed, and I still couldn’t tell if I wasted (am wasting) time or not.
Goals-wise, I think I did pretty well last month. I ordered take-out only once. I bought new clothes, yes, but I kept my wallet shut for new plants. I had 13 no-spend days too. Most importantly, I exceeded my savings target for the month. Not bad, my friends. Not bad at all.
I did not go climbing in January though. Maybe it was the extreme cold, I dunno. I was just too lazy and too demotivated to even lift a finger. Every morning, I woke up and thought, Ugh. Fuck this life. I didn’t finish reading one book. People got laid off at work. Maybe I’ll get sacked too, who knows?
Still, the sun paints beautiful streaks of orange across the skyline in front of my apartment. Still, I get to enjoy good food. Still, life is generally, generally, good.

Korean BBQ, mushroom patties, and Chicken Caldereta
In January, I went to a new Korean barbecue place with two co-workers and a friend. I also made burger patties without using meat or eggs, and there was one week when all I ate was homemade chicken caldereta. Good stuff.

Things I am looking forward to in February:
❆ attending a murder mystery birthday party
❆ going to a escape room for the first time
❆ finishing Weike Wang’s Joan is Okay
❆ climbing, spinning, and (possibly) yoga-ing
Oh, February. Please be good to me and to my family and to everybody.
