Just like last month, I’m going to break down my February recap into sections. Here goes it.
Money
Let’s get the boring stuff out of the way first.
In February, I was able to hit my money goals. No surprise there since winter was in full force and I had little choice but to hibernate like a fiscally responsible bear. I even opened an investment account — investor yarn? — though I hadn’t touched it yet. We’ll see where that goes in the coming months.
| Savings Bucket | Savings Goals Met % |
| Long-Term | 100% |
| Travel | 100% |
| Gifts | 100% |
Fitness
Like last month, my goal was to hit 15 days of exercise. In February, I hit 17 days. Yay!
| Exercise Days | 17 |
| Indoor Run | 8 |
| Barre | 4 |
| Pilates | 1 |
| Indoor Walk | 1 |
| Pole Dance | 1 |
| Lifting | 2 |
I didn’t plan it this way, but I ended up doing the same exercises I did last month and then some. I tried new fitness classes too, which was fun, but my two favorite workouts are still running and barre.
Reading
I read Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu. I enjoyed it a lot, especially the historicization of Chinese immigration in the US. Good stuff.
Social
I wasn’t a complete hermit in February, despite it being the coldest month of the season. I went to boardgame night with S and K; I had coffee with an old coworker; I went out for half-priced meat with another friend group; and I attended a birthday dinner at a Korean barbecue place. Whew!
Finds and Firsts
In February, I played Wingspan for the first time. Wingspan is a boardgame in which you collect birds and earn points — I won’t explain the mechanics of it, but I will say that it’s one of the best boardgames I’ve played (not that I’ve played a lot, haha).

I also went to a barbecue joint that offers half-priced meat after 10pm. Their brisket was really good, and the sausage was tasty too. The pulled pork was a bit dry, but it’s half-priced so it’s fine.
And then I went to a Beginner Pole Dance class just for funsies. I learned how to do some of the basic spins, but not without banging my knees against the metal pole multiple times. Ouch, but fun.

Another just-for-funsies: I tried hydrotherapy at a basement spa downtown. I call it a “basement” spa because the pools and the saunas are literally in a basement with no windows. It was nice though; I enjoyed the silence.
Fails and Flops
Hmm, I can’t think of any. Maybe it’s because I don’t go out of my way to look for fails and flops? Or maybe February was just generally good to me so, no notes there.
Looking Ahead
I am looking forward to warmer weather in March. February was brutally cold, so I cannot wait until I don’t have to walk on snow and wear a heavy-ass coat.
I am also thinking of doing either a 75 Medium or a 75 Soft, which should be fun. (I don’t think I can pull off a 75 Hard, so it’s not even an option.)
Other than that, hmm…I guess I’m just hoping that I don’t lose my job in March? I don’t think I will, but you never really know with all the shenanigans happening in Lower Canada, or what most people call the United States.
Anywaaaay, I’ll try to post more in March. We shall see.
