Things I use every day: Shampoo. Conditioner. Soap. Moisturizer. Not sunscreen. Phone. AirPods (except on weekends). Yeti Rambler (except on weekends). Pencil. Kettle. Tea bags. Eyeglasses. Smart watch. Hair dryer. Charger. Toothbrush. Floss. Facial wash. Bed. Pillow. Blanket.

Things I do to cope with stress: Run. Journal. Read. Blog.

Things I do instead of doomscrolling: Cook. Read. Work out. Journal. Chores. See friends. Sleep.

Things I should do instead of doomscrolling: Clean the bathrooms. Vacuum the floors. Organize my art supplies. Use my art supplies. Shred the papers in my shredding pile. Read the physical books in my shelves. Clean my mechanical keyboard. Update my resume (you never know).

Things I want for Christmas: Pull-up station. Wooden cooking utensils. Boxing training kit. Hot sauce set. 4k projector. Bookstore gift card. Sephora gift card.

Things I do not have and do not need and do not want: New phone. Sleeve for my Kindle. Starbucks planner. New tumbler. Labubu.

Things I do not have and do not need but kinda want: New work blazer. Small video camera. Self-powered treadmill. More physical books, e.g. Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy, Sophie Calle’s Take Care of Yourself, etc.

Things that cheer me up: Bops. A good book. Hot tea. Discovering a new blog to follow. Discovering the blog of a person I know IRL. Solving a Wordle in three hard-mode attempts or fewer. Solving a Connections puzzle with L.

Things I should try to be better at: Being on time. Following through. Meditation. Not starting my sentences with “I think.”

Things I learned about this week (so far): Kim Chiu suing her sister for qualified theft. Kim Chiu’s sister almost dying a few years ago. The word “bathymetric.” R.F. Kuang pulling out of a literary festival in Dubai. The Caribbean boat strike.

Things I’m grateful for: L, family, friends. My bus not getting canceled last minute. The relative “warmth” of the weather despite the snow. The beauty of the snow. The privilege to appreciate the snow from the comforts of my own home. Life, in general. The privilege to appreciate life, and being alive, in general.
