tuesday checkpoint no. 1

Some Tuesdays I know exactly what I want to write about or, even better, I’ve already written a piece and all I have to do is hit Publish.

Most Tuesdays though I got nothing. Zilch. Nada. No topic in mind, no burning take to share — not even a smidge of gumption to come up with an idea.

But I suppose I still feel compelled to honor my self-imposed weekly deadline. So, tonight, I decided to reflect on some blogging prompts.

A moment

This morning, while listening to If Books Could Kill‘s podcast episode on Atomic Habits, I remembered how the word “blogger” can be used as a put-down, i.e. blogger = bad writer.

A thought

Should I start calling this blog a newsletter? WordPress sends emails to some subscribers so…maybe this is a newsletter? Sort of? Technically?

Less than 20% of subscribers open their emails though (I see the stats), and I myself don’t read blogs through email so…

A feeling

I low-key feel beaten down after spending so much money these past couple days. It’s mostly for gifts and food because I’m hosting Christmas dinner. Ang gastos besh!

A signal

The universe is telling me to save more money next year, especially if I plan on hosting during the holidays.

A concern

What if there’s a fire happening at work right now? I’ve only checked my email 3x since my holiday break started, so I’m a teeny tiny bit worried.

A comfort

Family.

A plan

Tomorrow I need to order a few more stuff like salmon, toilet cleaner, and maybe a roll of cooking twine.

A question

Do I really need cooking twine?

The digital clock on the bottom right corner of my screen just went past midnight. The date flipped to the 24th. Christmas Eve. By the time this post goes live, it won’t be Tuesday anymore. Well well well.

Whether you’re reading this through email or the WordPress app or wherever that may be: I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Happy holidays!
