Ten books

There’s this tag thing going on on Facebook and the instructions go: “[List] 10 books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take more than a few minutes and don’t think too hard. They don’t have to be ‘right’ or ‘great’ works; just ones that have touched you.” Somebody tagged me but I don’t wanna tarnish the glistening blankness of my Facebook wall so I’ll just post my own 10 here.

  1. The God of Small Things – Arundhati Roy
  2. Norwegian Wood – Haruki Murakami
  3. White Oleander – Janet Fitch
  4. The Reader – Bernhard Schlink
  5. Antolohiya ng mga Nagwaging Akda, Dekada 80: Maikling Kuwento – Palanca winners
  6. Dekada 70 / Gapo / Bata, Bata…Paano ka Ginawa? – Lualhati Bautista (yes, triple tie)
  7. She’s Come Undone – Wally Lamb / The World According to Garp – John Irving (yes, another tie)
  8. Utos ng Hari at iba pang kwento – Jun Cruz Reyes
  9. To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee
  10. The Partner – John Grisham
