I spent a huge part of September in transit.
I rode trains, I sat through long car rides, I took the bus, I flew. And if I wasn’t travelling from point A to point B, and sometimes to point C, I was either going about the usual mundanities of life (i.e., work and chores) or preparing for yet another trip, another point B or point C or point D to get to.

Right now, as we speak – or as I write, hah – I am battling a colossal jetlag-induced headache. I still want to get the September log out of the way though, so here goes.

In September I visited towns I’ve never visited before, and I explored them on foot. I also wandered around my own neighborhood, which, I must say, is gorgeous, especially in September when the glowing colors of the summer-autumn cusp are too pretty not to witness.

In other news, a familiar discomfort started bugging my left glute again, so I went to see my doctor who recommended I see a physiotherapist. Doc said my hamstrings are oddly tight given how flexible my hip flexors were. Physio didn’t find anything to worry too much about, although he observed that my left groin muscles could use some work. A motor recruitment issue, perhaps?
To verify his prognosis, Physio assigned me simple daily exercises to do over the next couple weeks. My next appointment is coming up. Fingers crossed the prognosis remains favorable.
Social
Hmm, let’s see.

I went bowling with family, I went to a escape room + KBBQ with friends, I had malatang hot pot with MM after our boxing sesh, and I spent a lot of out-of-office time with coworkers. Pretty basic; nothing too exciting.
Hobbies
I didn’t finish reading a book. I traveled and saw new places though. I also watched the Mexico and Italy versions of Physical 100 and the movie Obsession.

Looking Ahead
There’s an upcoming referendum in the province where I live, and I am looking forward to exercising my civic duty in October by answering 10 dumb questions that are so knottily worded they make my already-throbbing temples pulsate even harder.
But yes, I am still going to vote despite the asininity of it all because voting is the right thing to do, and because politics will always shape the trajectories of our lives – yes, all of us, even those whose rosy algorithms have convinced them that they’re somehow insulated from the exploding shrapnel of stupid public policies.
Plus, did you not hear about the results of the recent Quebec elections? Dang.
Anyway, that is all. I am tired. My head still hurts. I hope I feel better tomorrow. I hope we all feel better (or just as good, for those who are doing well) tomorrow.
