tired af

Been sleeping 4-6 hours a day. Every day I set the alarm for 4 am, a paltry attempt at optimum productivity as I always wake up at 6-ish anyway, only to start the day with a dash of pure, unadulterated despair.

By “start the day” I mean “work.” I go to my desk, I shake the tiny-ass mouse to wake the computer, and I type on the keyboard my 8-digit password. It’s muscle memory at this point. The two monitors brighten up on cue and greet me with the stuff that I failed to complete the nights prior.

Oh what fun to be this dumb! Seriously, man. I am way too slow and way too dumb to get shit done.

The one thing that’s making me quote-unquote happy these days are clothes. Like, literally. I like it when I wear tops and pants and shoes that look cute, at least according to my definition of cute, which doesn’t amount to anything, really, seeing that I have questionable taste in pretty much everything.

Up top is a photo from one of the days when I went to the office to work. I wore a light blue blouse with puff sleeves and a pair of black pants with garterized hem. I bought the pants three, four years ago from a Filipino online seller. I had the impression that she and I had the same body type — skinny, small-framed, tall-ish — but she turned out to be much shorter than I. Pretty sure that those pants were not meant to be capri-length, but I bought them anyway. Again, questionable taste.

Our office does not have a strict dress code, but the big boss requires us to dress “appropriately” during client meetings. The rule is we must never look underdressed in front of clients. I did not have a client meeting that day — September 21, #MarcosNotAHero — so I didn’t go full corporate with my outfit. Looking at the photo now, it seems as if I inadvertently dressed like a hipster who recently started transitioning into a corporate 9-to-5 life. Not too far from the truth, I must say, except I work 9-to-forever.

Anyway, there’s nothing much else to share. I still have a lot of backlogs at work and I need to get them done, stat. Hopefully I get to blog more once this crunch time is over. Meanwhile, let me share some songs that’s been keeping me company during these busy times:

Please, please recommend me some upbeat + lively + catchy music! Am trying my best to stay away from sadgirl shit at the moment. Can’t afford to mope around when you’re broke and you need to hustle.

My current mood booster is Foxes’ Sister Ray and Charli XCX’s Doing It. Mga songs ni Charli actually very lively, if you think you can get into hyperpop ayan you can check her out. Lakas maka-throwback nung Sunshine ni Twista haha thanks for putting it back on my radar. Here’s to having better days πŸ™‚
